It's often said you will only realize how much you like a good compressor when you turn it off. Made in Japan by Maxon in 1977, this Ibanez CP-830 is one of the more transparent, clear-sounding compressors we've heard in years. It squashes and squishes oh-so-nicely without altering your picking attack. Relative to other '70s compressors, the CP-830 is more subtle, akin to a lot of modern boutique designs.

This 1977 Ibanez CP-830 Compressor was assessed and restored by Josh Scott at JHS Pedals on 10/30/19. Before we sent it to Josh, it was overly noisy, and its tone was shrill and harsh in general. He adjusted an internal trimpot to allow for the appropriate bass content to come through, and that keeps the pedal especially transparent to your guitar's natural EQ. He was also able to clean uptake sound so that it runs especially quiet despite 40 plus years of wear and tear!

This 1977 Ibanez CP-830 Compressor is in very good cosmetic condition. Someone once drilled a hole though the enclosure to allow for a 9V battery adapter, which could be extremely helpful. This one will have no trouble finding a home on any pedalboard.

Taste and Quality are Excellent!
Flavor Name: Vanilla, Size: 30 Servings (Pack of 1)
Thorne has a reputation for high quality products so I thought I’d try this whey protein. It tastes really good! I find it easy to digest, and it dissolves easily. I plan to make this my go-to whey protein.

Definitely sweet but good mixed
Flavor Name: Vanilla, Size: 30 Servings (Pack of 1)
The vanilla would be too sweet on it's own for me but with strawberries and spinach it's perfect.

Horribly ‘weird’ sweet flavor
Flavor Name: Vanilla, Size: 30 Servings (Pack of 1)
Horrible taste - synthetic sweetness than destroys my shakes. I bought Thorne because of its high quality but this is one of their products that won’t work for me. I’m struggling through the jar because it’s too expensive to waste. Using cacao powder, cinnamon & cardamom to try to tone down the overwhelming ‘sweet.’

Absolutely Great Stuff
Flavor Name: Vanilla, Size: 30 Servings (Pack of 1)
The vanilla flavored Protein Powder has to be the Best tasting Protein Powder Ever. Literally delicious. Product satisfies your appetite while supplementing your body with needed protein and nutrients. Combined with gym workouts I’ve noticed firmer muscles. A nice noticeable improvement.

It's a thing...
Flavor Name: Vanilla, Size: 14 Servings (Pack of 1)
I am probably the most skeptical person when it comes to supplements. I’ve tried so many over the years and honestly… most of them felt like a waste of money or just hype. But I have to say—this combo has completely surprised me. I’ve been consistently using Thorne protein and creatine, and within a few weeks I started noticing real changes. Not just how I feel, but how I look. My shoulders especially are looking more defined, and I feel stronger in my workouts without feeling jittery or weird like some products can make you feel. What really stands out to me is how clean and simple it is. No bloating, no heavy feeling, no unnecessary extras—just something that actually supports what I’m already doing. I also love that it fits easily into my routine. I take my creatine with my morning coffee (super easy habit), and I’ve been doing a protein shake after workouts which has helped a lot with recovery and keeping me on track nutritionally. I’m currently in a calorie deficit getting ready for a trip, and this has honestly made it feel doable without feeling depleted. If you’re someone like me who is hesitant about supplements, I’d say this is the first time I’ve actually felt like something made a noticeable difference.
